Advent season includes the four Sundays preceding Christmas and Christmas Eve. Advent is a time to focus on the celebration of the birth of Christ. Even though the secular world has commercialized the Christmas season, the Christian church still claims Advent as its own untarnished Christmas Celebration. Thus, many churches have included the weekly lighting of the Advent wreath as an opportunity to focus on the birth of Christ.
